California Chief Information Officer Carlos Ramos encouraged small businesses to look into bidding on part of the California High Speed Rail Authority project, which is outlined in the state’s 2013 IT Capital Plan.
According to a report on Techwire, Ramos, speaking at the CalAsian Chamber’s Small Business Summit in Santa Clara, Calif., said the rail project has a 30 percent goal for small business participants. It also has goals for minority, women-owned and businesses owned by persons with disabilities.
Ramos also announced the California Technology Agency will host a vendor forum Dec. 18 at the Department of Technology’s Training Center in Rancho Cordova.
The forum will give IT vendors and state agency CIOs an opportunity to express and share ideas on how to improve the state’s procurement systems.
