GoldenGov: City Executive of the Year

Collin Boyce, the CIO of Tucson, Arizona, is transforming the city to be technology-forward. Boyce is leading Tucson’s LTE deployment — one of the largest in the country — that has the potential to expand connectivity for over 32,000 homes that previously lacked crucial internet access needed for telework and virtual learning amid the pandemic. Currently, Boyce is pushing Tucson to fully embrace data analytics’ potential by leading the implementation of sensors that will be placed throughout the city to capture everything from traffic, to environmental or weather hazards, to reported crime. Boyce believes data can build the bridge between government and citizens, informing better performance and providing meaningful engagements.
