Behavioral Health Analytics

Behavioral Health Analytics is a project from San Bernardino County, California.

Local IT Innovation of the Year

San Bernardino County Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) uses analytics to answer questions about consumer engagement to improve assistance and care. For example, DBH maps consumer population data to determine the best locations for different services. Analysts can see which areas need improved access, which have enough, and see how resource reallocation affects their network of providers. Data reveals patterns of re-hospitalization which change how the department provides outreach for outpatient services. By identifying previously unknown patterns, DBH saves months of manual analysis. DBH is faster and nimbler, which means community members are getting the health services they need quicker.
