Mississippi has launched a new ms.gov specifically designed to keep up with the increase in traffic from mobile devices.

Mississippi has launched a new ms.gov specifically designed to keep up with the increase in traffic from mobile devices.

The site uses responsive design to allow ms.gov to be optimally displayed to the end user depending on the device they are using, a key consideration with site mobile traffic doubling over the past year.

“From the beginning, the inspiration for this design has been the residents and businesses of Mississippi,” said Mississippi Chief Information Officer Craig Orgeron. “With today’s technology rapidly changing, how we do business and interact with one another is changing as well. We feel this mobile first approach addresses the demands of our end user and continues to propel Mississippi as a leader in eGovernment.”

The design is touch-enabled for all mobile devices and incorporates swipe-sliders and “content box flips.”

“Listening to users of ms.gov was a very important aspect in this design process,” said Deanna Gronlie, general manager of Mississippi Interactive, in a prepared statement. “Citizens are more mobile today and it’s our job to continue to evolve and focus on how Mississippians want to interact with Government.”
