Dept. of Ag Celebrates South Dakota’s 125 Years of Statehood with Ag Instagram Contest
Get your ag photos ready! The South Dakota Department of Agriculture will be hosting an Instagram agricultural photo contest to celebrate South Dakota’s 125th year of statehood starting Thursday July 3.
“Agriculture has been and remains South Dakota’s number one industry,” Secretary of Agriculture Lucas Lentsch said. “This contest is a creative way to share our heritage and celebrate the state’s hard working families in agriculture now and from years past.”
To enter starting July 3, use the Instagram application on your smartphone to post photos of South Dakota families working in agriculture. Use the following hashtag: #SDAgProud.
Two winners will be randomly selected weekly from July 3 to Aug. 8 and prizes will be distributed including 125 years of South Dakota statehood memorabilia and tickets to a South Dakota State Fair concert or event.
Winning photos will be displayed at Dakotafest and the South Dakota State Fair in Huron. Detailed rules can be found at http://sdda.sd.gov/office-of-the-secretary/outreach-programs/.
