Idaho selects NTT Data to advise on modernizing state’s Medicaid system 

NTT Data announced it was awarded a contract by the Idaho health department to advise on how to modernize its Medicaid system.

NTT Data on Monday announced it was awarded a contract by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare to advise on how to modernize the state’s Medicaid Management Information System.

The contract tasks NTT Data with provide advisory services for modernizing the state’s Medicaid system, which is the state’s claims processing center for Medicaid providers in the state. NTT Data will assist the state’s Department of Health and Welfare in developing the technical framework for the modernization effort, which will include standardizing the development, integration, implementation and operational processes throughout the project, a news release said.

The technology company will also provide technical and operational recommendations, as well as training and support for Department of Health and Welfare staff throughout the modernization process.

The news release also said that NTT DATA will develop and implement a data governance board, along with data governance procedures and policies.

“We’re honored to support this crucial project for the state and the residents of Idaho who receive vital healthcare services through Medicaid,” Dave Turner, NTT Data’s division president of state, local and education services, said in the release. “We look forward to collaborating with IDHW staff to modernize the state’s MMIS capabilities to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of high-quality healthcare services.”
