The Texas Workforce Commission launched the MyTXCareer app on Monday, a free mobile app designed to help Texans find information about career paths and job opportunities in the state.

The new app, which is available for Apple and Android devices, provides job seekers access to a personality quiz that recommends possible career paths, along with information and training opportunities.

Users can view data on average salaries, job demands and position descriptions. The app also allows users to request more information from the Texas Workforce Commission or connect with a “workforce solutions” office.

“The continued growth of Texas’ record-breaking economy creates opportunities for Texans to advance their careers,” Texas Workforce Commission Chairman Bryan Daniel said in a news release. “The MyTXCareer app will be an important tool for Texans to discover potential career paths and match to a job opportunity with a Texas employer.”

The new app comes as Texas’s labor market reaches a record high. Employment in nine of the state’s 11 major industries expanded over the month of September, outpacing the rest of the country in job growth, the Texas Workforce Commission announced last October.
