The Japanese technology firm NTT Data on Wednesday announced it was awarded a five-year contract with the Georgia Technology Authority, to modernize the state’s digital infrastructure.

The integrated managed services agreement, which includes options for the state to extend the contract an additional three years, will see NTT Data assisting Georgia with the enhancement of the state’s cybersecurity posture, improvement of reliability across the state’s digital infrastructure and the simplification of digital services. The company said it will also provide cloud-enabled, cross-functional IT services to ensure resilience and continuity of services across Georgia agencies.

NTT Data declined to share the contract’s dollar value. Georgia technology officials did not immediately respond to a request for that information.

These capabilities will create a “unified service environment” to enhance citizen services, improve operational efficiency and promote innovation across state agencies, a news release said. And the system’s cloud capabilities will reportedly help replace fragmented legacy systems with a more resilient, secure platform for critical public services.

“This partnership is about more than technology; it’s about transforming how Georgians experience government,” Shawnzia Thomas, Georgia’s chief information officer, said in the news release. “From faster service delivery to stronger data protection, we’re building a digital foundation that puts citizens first.”
