OneAlabama

OneAlabama allows citizens to submit Family Assistance (FA) applications, report changes for their employment and training program (JOBS), as well as upload supporting documentation.

State IT Innovation of the Year

The Alabama Department of Human Resource’s innovative approach to providing Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) to their constituents has been a technological bright spot during a year rife with challenges. Launched fully in April 2020, OneAlabama allows citizens to submit Family Assistance (FA) applications, report changes for their employment and training program (JOBS), as well as upload supporting documentation. This can be done from any device — whether laptop, tablet or Android app — providing citizens with the convenience and privacy they deserve. OneAlabama has seen steady increases each month, with December 2020 and January 2021 seeing 59 percent of all TANF applications coming through Alabama DHR’s online experience.
