Texas DIR names chief customer officer
The Texas Department of Information Resources has named Priscilla Pipho the organization’s chief customer officer, a newly created position aimed at growing and strengthening DIR’s customer-centric culture.
Pipho will work with all DIR programs to listen to and actively respond with the department’s customers, overseeing staff in communications, publications, customer service, business development and government relations to enhance the customer experience across all program areas.
Her appointment comes as part of the customer-centric culture that Karen Robinon, DIR’s executive director and the state chief information officer for Texas, has worked to build during her tenure with the state.
Pipho served Texas for the past eleven years as deputy director of both the Board of Professional Engineers and the Board of Architectural Examiners, overseeing customer service, strategic planning, communications, technology and human resources.
Prior to that, she worked as the public relations and media manager for the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.
Pipho’s new role is part of an agency initiative to guide open communication, foster increased collaboration and provide a culture responsive to the needs of all customers.
