The Texas Department of Information Resources released its strategic plan for 2014 to 2018 last month in a document that highlights the top 10 technology priorities that will affect decisions in the state over the next five years.

The 10 priorities include: security and privacy, cloud services, legacy modernization, business continuity, enterprise planning and collaboration, IT workforce, virtualization, data management, mobility and network.

“While technology is a rapidly changing environment, we believe these priorities provide the greatest opportunities to enhance the relationship between government and citizens in Texas,” wrote Karen Robinson, Texas chief information officer.
