The New York Office for Information Technology Services released a series of videos setting the foundation for the state’s transition to responsive web design practices, including a “Go Responsive” online resource to help agencies build “sites and apps that adapt to every device.”
As part of the state’s responsive push, OITS developed the “Go Responsive” toolkit that includes a resources section and an open source NYS Excelsior Web Framework to help agencies expedite web and application development.
According to OITS, mobile traffic to state government websites has increased from 3 percent in 2010 to 20 percent in 2012. Currently, just six of 109 NY state websites are optimized for mobile devices.
