Macomb County, Mich. consolidates public safety systems
Macomb County, Mich., selects New World Systems’ software for public safety consolidation
A new public safety software system will be the key component to a cost-saving public safety consolidation project for Macomb County, Mich. The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office has selected New World Systems to implement Aegis(TM) Public Safety software and bring the Sheriff’s Office, Clinton Township Police and Sterling Heights Police together on the same system at the new Macomb County Operations Center.
“New World Systems’ software will meet all of our public safety needs,” said Sheriff Anthony Wickersham. “Our goal for this project is to use one system to dispatch police, fire and EMS for two of the largest communities in Macomb County. New World’s software will help us share services and continue to provide a high level of support to the community.”
New World is providing the Macomb County public safety agencies with integrated Aegis Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Records Management, Mobile Computing and Field-Based Reporting software, all built on the latest Microsoft technology. The unified suite of software will provide easy access to information for first responders and field personnel.
The new CAD will offer enhanced mapping capabilities and more efficient proximity and resource-based dispatching for law enforcement, fire and EMS.
In 2010, Sterling Heights Police Department was the first agency to move from the older system in place in Macomb County to New World’s software. Having New World’s solutions in use across Macomb County will position the third largest county in Michigan for critical information sharing and to take full advantage of future advances in public safety
technology.
