State IT Innovation of the Year
The AI Accelerator was established by Gov. Josh Stein’s Executive Order on AI, signed in September 2025. Located within the N.C. Department of Information Technology, this free program enables state agencies and employees to showcase AI use cases, develop, test, and pilot AI solutions in a secure environment during 60-day sprints.
