In February 2024, the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation replaced its IT system with a mobile-friendly cloud solution, enhancing efficiency and accessibility. In just 13 months, the department launched the modernized Nevada UI Employer Self Service system, with Nevada UI Claimant Self Service set to follow this year. Key upgrades include streamlined employer registration, reduced paper filings, easier wage report submissions and online payment setup. The system has already collected $53 million in its first quarter, doubled audit output and accelerated mergers and acquisitions processing — down from weeks to minutes. These innovations and automations eliminated a nine-month backlog.
