State Cybersecurity Leader of the Year

Stephen Meyer is the chief information security officer for the state of Missouri. Meyer takes great pride in securing the data and systems for the state. In 2019, Meyer and his team implemented crowd-sourced penetration testing, funded the completion of a large-scale DMARC project, realized the benefit of a new vulnerability management system, advanced the state’s email security, and put into operation a new security awareness program that allows state employees to educate their friends and family. Meyer was able to manage all of these accomplishments without increasing the security budget and continues to work on security innovations.
