Local IT Innovation of the Year
The City of Austin’s public safety IT staff, along with the Austin Police Department, launched a new non-emergency online reporting system that uses AI to communicate with the community. The department is one of the first in the country to use the technology to file non-emergency cases. The platform reduces wait times for community members and speeds up the investigation process. The new reporting system supports multiple languages including English, Arabic, French, Hindi, Korean, Simplified, and Traditional Chinese, Spanish and Vietnamese, among other languages.
