The Virginia Office of Data Governance and Analytics manages the Commonwealth Data Trust, the data sharing agreement that allows the office to work with other commonwealth agencies for data-sharing and management projects. This agreement completion process was previously handled manually via PDF documents. The ODGA team improved this process in February by implementing an automated agreement completion process through the Commonwealth Data Trust Portal. The new Commonwealth Data Trust Portal acts as a centralized platform where agencies can easily join the Commonwealth Data Trust and request data from other agencies. By streamlining the agreement process, the portal reduces the time required to complete agreements from days to just minutes. This efficient, user-friendly system is designed to break down data silos, enabling faster and more seamless collaboration across agencies for interagency data projects.
