Christie Burris
State Leadership of the Year
Christie Burris was appointed chief data officer in the North Carolina Department of Information Technology in January 2024. As CDO, Burris leads statewide development of enterprise data strategies, including governance, sharing and analytics across all platforms. Burris is director of the state’s Government Data Analytics Center, where she guides the state’s use of integrated data to support public safety, fraud, compliance, health care, finance and performance and policy decision analysis.
