NASCIO names new executive leadership

The National Association of State Chief Information Officers on Tuesday named its executive leaders for the coming year, moving Arizona CIO J.R. Sloan up to president, replacing Texas CIO Amanda Crawford, who’s now recognized as the group’s most recent past president.

As NASCIO’s most recent president, Crawford led an initiative called “Demystifying State Technology Procurement,” aimed at making the process by which states purchase things simpler, both for vendors and the government agencies doing the procuring.

Utah CIO Alan Fuller now serves as NASCIO’s vice president and Ohio CIO Katrina Flory serves as its secretary-treasurer.
