Mary Lou Prevost is the group vice president for U.S. State, Local Government and Education at Splunk. Prevost ensures state and local leaders operate with the resilience necessary for today’s cyber threats. With decades of experience at the state and local levels, Prevost is heavily involved in addressing various challenges across the industry, from stopping fraud in government systems to bridging the workforce gap and talent shortages. For example, to address the cyber talent gap, she spearheads programs with higher education to give students up to 1,000 hours of real-world experience in security operations centers, gaining skills that translate into government work. Additionally, she led efforts to identify unemployment systems under organized nation-state attacks.
