Dave Cole has served as New Jersey’s Chief Innovation Officer for two years. Despite New Jersey’s gubernatorial transition in 2026, he was asked to stay on in Gov. Mikie Sherrill’s new Cabinet. Cole ensured the first-in-the-nation codification in law of a state-cabinet-level innovation team in January 2026.
