NASCIO announces new executive leadership team

The National Association of State Chief Information Officers has announced a new executive leadership team for its upcoming program year.

The National Association of State Chief Information Officers on Tuesday announced its executive leadership team for its upcoming program year.

Texas Chief Information Officer Amanda Crawford steps up from her role as the association’s vice president to serve as president. She replaces Jim Weaver, who selected as his presidential initiative an exploration of how state governments were using generative artificial intelligence.

Arizona CIO J.R. Sloan will serve as the association’s vice president, and Utah CIO Alan Fuller is NASCIO’s new secretary and treasurer.

Nevada CIO Timothy Galluzi will join NASCIO’s executive committee as a director.

Maria Thompson, an Amazon Web Services executive who formerly served as North Carolina’s chief risk and security officer, will chair NASCIO’s corporate leadership council. Michael Hussey, an Oracle executive and Utah’s former CIO, will vice chair the corporate leadership council.
