Nancy Rainosek is the chief information security officer for the state of Texas.

Nancy Rainosek is the Chief Information Security Officer for the State of Texas. She has over three decades of IT experience in Texas state government and private sector consulting. Additionally, she serves on the Executive Committee of the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center. She received the Thomas M. Jarrett State Cybersecurity Leadership Award from the National Association of State Chief Information Officers in 2021. Nancy took a leadership role in the state’s successful response to the 2019 ransomware attack that affected 23 local government entities in Texas. Prior to joining DIR, she served at two additional state agencies and the private sector.
