North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory and Chief Information Officer Chris Estes recently announced the development of an “Innovation Center” that will be fully operational and open to visitors in the next few months.

The center is designed to bring together the state’s agency CIOs, academia and private sector to create and pilot innovative solutions and technologies. The center will also serve as a platform for educating and training North Carolina’s IT workforce.

“The Innovation Center is about connecting people to help us provide better customer service for our citizens as we develop a more uniform environment to help agencies deliver more projects on time and within budget,” Estes said.
