Tennessee moving old systems to the cloud
Tennessee Chief Information Officer Stepahnie Dedmon says that although her state is doing a lot of work around emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, she’s also looking at more traditional IT projects, like updating old systems and adopting cloud computing software. Some of Tennessee’s current IT modernization projects, she says, include updating the Department of Labor’s unemployment insurance platform, and a Department of Correction system that was developed in 1992. “We have a large modernization going on with our department of children’s services for a new child welfare system and that’s underway, and then also working with our Department of Correction on an offender management system,” she says.
