Vermont broadband documentary explores role of community in connectivity

On this week’s Priorities podcast, Christia Hallquist, director of the Vermont Community Broadband Board, and Heryn Herzog, the board’s communications and outreach manager, share their documentary, “Connected: Vermont’s Grassroots Effort for Rural Broadband.” The film, which was released last month, explores the parallels between Vermont’s grassroots effort to connect homes with electricity decades ago to the current project of connecting every resident with high-speed internet. It features residents who rely on the internet to grow their businesses and access health care and education.
