Tackling identity fraud with modern identity solutions

Okta’s Steve Caimi discusses the push for online citizen services that require state and local agencies to look at the role of identity-proofing for more robust security strategies.

In the last two years, state and local agencies have significantly increased citizen benefits and services for those dealing with the effects of the pandemic. In parallel, these same agencies saw fraud dramatically increase, creating a hunger to build more robust identity-proofing structures with greater security capabilities.

According to Okta’s Steve Caimi, to better mitigate risk, agencies should move away from legacy systems and focus on the modernization of infrastructure to improve identity management and authentication.

Caimi, director of product marketing, public sector at Okta, joined StateScoop in an exclusive interview, to discuss how cybersecurity and risk management are at the forefront of transforming digital government at the state and local level.
