Illinois’s CIO is ‘working at the speed of business innovation’

Now heading into his second year on the job, Illinois Chief Information Officer Sanjay Gupta says his top three priorities are to build fiscal health, improve the state’s IT workforce and accelerate the delivery of new technologies. Gupta says in a video with StateScoop that the state’s businesses demand solutions quickly, but that the technology office sometimes struggles to keep up. A key priority, he says, will be “working at the speed of business innovation.” A new workforce partnership with community colleges that launched last October, meanwhile, is bringing fresh talent into the state as it prepares its third cohort.
