D.C. CTO pushes for culture change

Vemulapalli said sheopened up her calendar to meet with people working at all levels of her department, hoping to hear creative solutions to the office’s challenges.

Some of the best ideas of how we can improve and bring efficiencies about comes from people who have done it for eight, 10 years, Vemulapalli said.

Using those ideas and making your peace with the speed that technology changes allows the department to become more nimble and course correct, she said,so that if technology shifts, we can rapidly shift without too much of a cost.
