Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont signed a new law into effect on Friday that is inspired by California's popular "Delete Act."

Geballe, formerly the state's administrative services commissioner, played a key role in modernizing systems and assisting COVID-19 response.

The new law removes what Gov. Ned Lamont called "outdated bureaucratic practices" and instates new governance for modern IT processes.

Connecticut's new tax-filing system, to go live next week, will replace a legacy system built in 2002.

The state's purchasing, digital identity management and citizen services are primed for the greatest improvements under Gov. Ned Lamont's proposal.
