Vermont’s new CISO shares his proactive approach to cyber

On this week’s Priorities podcast, Vermont Chief Information Security Officer John Toney shares his proactive approach to cybersecurity. He says that among his top priorities is critical infrastructure. In his first weeks as the state’s top cyber official, he said, he’s scanned water utilities throughout the states in search of vulnerabilities and reached out to their administrators when his team finds them. In the interview, Toney also shares how compliance, procurement, automation and staying current on the latest cybersecurity threats are other key components of his role.
