Term limit created ‘incredible urgency’ for Virginia IT
Some state chief information officers stick around for a decade or longer, ushering in major changes to the technology landscape. In Virginia, a law that limits the governor to serve only one four-year term puts the commonwealth’s technology projects on a different timeline. State Chief Information Officer Bob Osmond says the time pressure has created in him “an incredible sense of urgency.” “You don’t have the luxury of thinking you might have more years. You have four. You’ve got to get it done. You’ve got to move, you’ve got to move fast,” he says.
