Alaska moving services portal to mobile app

Alaska soon plans to expand its single sign-on portal for state services to a mobile app, state Chief Information Officer Bill Smith tells StateScoop in a recent video interview. Smith says Gov. Mike Dunleavy is focused on improving access to services and that expanding the portal, which contains about 50 services, will meet residents “where they’re at.” “We’re taking that environment and pushing it to a mobile application that will also have a better directory service and some other features to really allow Alaskans to go one place so they know how to get to the services they need and bring it to them where they’re at,” he says.

This video was recorded on Oct. 1, 2024, at the National Association of State Chief Information Officers annual conference in New Orleans.
