With digital government, the citizen matters most, says CIO
New Hampshire is currently amid a project to revamp its digital government offerings — websites, apps and other online services are being redesigned with the citizen in mind. State Chief Information Officer Denis Goulet says the project has included making all of the state’s websites have the same look and feel and developing a business portal, a website that helps new businesses get all the permits and other documents they need. Goulet says that when the project was getting started, he visited many state agencies to explain how his office would determine success. “The number one concept I brought up was this idea that your ideas of whether your website’s good or not don’t matter. It’s the constituents, the citizens, that’s what matters,” he says.
