Texas AI advisory meetings are ‘fantastic,’ says CIO Amanda Crawford
After five meetings held by Texas’s Artificial Intelligence Advisory Council, officials and lawmakers are getting a better feel for the extent of progress various organizations have been as they adopt artificial intelligence, state Chief Information Officer Amanda Crawford tells StateScoop in a recent interview. “Those meetings have been really fantastic. … And it’s bringing different agencies in, cities, counties, police departments, higher ed, and the private sector to talk to us about what are they seeing, how are they using AI, are they using AI,” Crawford says. She says the council is planning to publish a report in December that will include new guidelines and recommendations for lawmakers as they evaluate their AI priorities in the coming year.
