How states can build a defense-in-depth cybersecurity strategy

The rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape puts added pressure on state and local leaders to develop a holistic security strategy. However, amid a myriad of modernization priorities, finding the funding to support a range of security practices, tools and policies is not always easy.

In a new StateScoop interview, Josh Moulin, senior vice president at the Center for Internet Security (CIS), discusses the value of a defense-in-depth strategy and how states can lean on key partnerships to take advantage of a variety of tools that work within their budgets.

Moulin highlights several partnership opportunities available to state and local agencies, including the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC), which is made up of more than 12,000 members, as well as CIS’ partnerships with the Department of Homeland Security and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) that provides federal funded security products and services.
