State CISOs share how they’re doing generative AI ‘right’

On this week’s Priorities podcast, four state chief information security officers say generative artificial intelligence presents an opportunity for states to embrace the emerging technology and “really do things right.” In a panel discussion during StateScoop and EdScoop’s Cybersecurity Modernization Summit this week, California CISO Vitaliy Panych says he’s placing security controls in the state’s processes for generative AI. Panych was joined on the panel by West Virginia CISO Danielle Cox, Maryland CISO Greg Rogers and Pennsylvania CISO James Sipe, who also shared their strategies for managing the rapidly changing technology.
