Obstinate N.M. county ordered to certify vote
The New Mexico Supreme Court last night sided with Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver in ordering the Otero County Commission to certify the results of a June 7 primary election, which members had been refusing to do after latching on to conspiracy theories about vote-tabulation equipment. The commission now has until tomorrow to certify the results, or face a possible criminal referral that could result in members being charged with contempt or booted from office. NG911 could win at auction
A House Energy and Commerce subcommittee yesterday advanced an amendment that would provide $10 billion in funding for next-generation 911, moving one step closer to possibly fulfilling a longstanding wish of the public safety community. The amendment to the Spectrum Innovation Act would use proceeds from FCC bandwidth auctions to raise the money. Colin Wood has details.
