The waiting is the hardest part

One of the biggest topics of discussion at NASCIO's midyear conference this week was the continued waiting on CISA for the official guidance on the $1 billion cybersecurity grant program in last year's infrastructure law. State officials are now expecting those instructions to arrive this summer, leaving a very brief window to deliver the program's first $200 million. CIOs and CISOs who spoke with StateScoop said they're just trying to make sure their plans are ready to go when the guidance comes through. Benjamin Freed reports.

Delaware IT agency adds administration and broadband officials

Delaware CIO Jason Clarke on Thursday announced the hiring of two new senior officials at the state Department of Technology and Information. Jordan Schulties, who’s been the director and chair of the Delaware Economic Development Authority since last year, will be the department’s new chief of administration, overseeing its finances. And Tammy Shelton, a longtime telecommunications executive, will manage the state's broadband grant programs. Ben has the story.

New York rethinks digital services as the pandemic wanes
