This K-12 vendor breach keeps growing

The data breach at K-12 vendor Illuminate Education, which was first reported earlier this year as affecting New York City’s public schools, has spread across the rest of the state, with at least 24 K-12 districts informed that their students' data may have been exposed. The state Department of Education is now offering school officials template letters to deal with the fallout as more families need to be notified. Benjamin Freed has the latest.


Tribal broadband gets $77 million from Commerce Department

The Commerce Department yesterday announced a total of $77 million in new grants to tribal governments across the United States. The 19 awards will be used by tribes to fund subsidized broadband service, offer digital skills and workforce training and improve access to health care. Colin Wood reports.
