How organizations are managing resources and mitigating cybersecurity risks
The Center for Digital Government conducted a national survey of education and state and local government leaders to understand the types of cybersecurity threats their organizations are facing and their strategies to combat those threats. The survey identified common barriers to enhance security across organizations including overstretched staff and limited budgets.
And while federal funds are available to tackle cybersecurity issues, less than a third (32%) of respondents said they are using those funds. The biggest reported barriers include the complexity of the application process and the lack of staff and resources to apply in the first place.
To respond to the growing cyberthreat attack surface, organizations adopting automation technologies and diversifying their security tools to stay vigilant and reduce risks.
