Since 2008, health care for inmates at Californias 35 state prisons has greatly improved. The process of managing patient care has moved from millions of paper records, to a semi-electronic system of PDFs in 2011, to an electronic health record system (EHRS) in 2017. The new EHRS, coupled with business process changes, has helped CCHCS increase patient safety and continuity of care by integrating all aspects of health. EHRS alsoallows clinicians to manage care based on real-time data. Future enhancements include a fully integrated dental component and an information exchange with outside entities.

The Utah.Gov Driver License Practice Exam uses the Amazon Echo to help drivers practice by reviewing questions with the Alexa personal digital assistant. It is the first state government voice activated review test of its kind and provides additional resources for driver education programs in schools and at home. Utah.Gov partnered with the Utah Department of Public Safety and Driver License Division to develop the practice exam for the Echo. The voiceactivated practice exam is a new and convenient way for drivers to review the rules of the road beyond typical online web browsers.
